haha 21 years that's crazy

I think they missed a rare opportunity to make a special anniversary edition '09 though. I mean, 20 years of cranking out pretty much the same damn vehicle, that's pretty rare. It should have been naked with clip ons and some sweet color to celebrate the '89.  :icon_mrgreen:

Yeah, it seems like Suzuki keeps making the GS because people want it but they wish they didn't!

It's probably a running joke for some there, but I'm sure the bean counters love it. I'm sure they've WELL recouped any engineering costs that went into the design!

25th anniversary GS500 please!  :D   Maybe we should start a petition to send to Suzuki.  :cookoo:

Glad to see they're continuing it, unlike Kawasaki who's discontinuing the Ninja 500R. I also noticed they raised the price from the 2008 model.

Suzuki does keep making the GS but the one local dealer by me stopped carrying them in 2004.  That was the last year they had a new one and it took them almost 5 years to sell.  Their are to many people in my area that think they need a bigger bike which is why his showroom is full of gixxers that sell constantly.

They need to redesign the fairing to be all angular and cut-out on the sides so it looks more like the Gixxers.

That's all Kwak did to the Ninjette, and boy did it re-invigorate that cheapo starter...

Yeah, make it look like another Robobike or mechanical insect.  She's right, but I think Robobikes are ugly.  Must be because I'm old.  I didn't grow-up watching Transformers.  I prefer rounded shapes whether they're on a bike, car, or woman!  :thumb:

This will have the added benifit of Idiot squids that will try to make it run with the GSXR's and blow up often. Then they will shaft them on the warranty and get them again for a real sport bike. Of course the Idiots then will crash and want a hayabusa. Simple, 1 sale = 3 bikes sold to a squid. Then the squids will bling out the hayabusa and never ride it and get a super fat girl friend to weight the bike down ... like ballast.
Cool.
