The linen ones are WAY more comfortable and much easier to care for in the long run.  I've developed a bit of a clothing addiction.  I'm heading off to Saks Off 5th tomorrow to grab a few Robert Graham's before they go off sale.

i do have a silk dress shirt i bought , for my first patriot guard memorial run. in black. i love that thing. i do love  fine clothing. , a funny story, a week ago. got to drive the maserati again, i told friend, , lets try an experiment, i put that shirt on, sunglasses, a nice dressup IMHO for my ugly ass. and drove 25w ( clinton highway) , not much of a hassle. except for cell phone cameras lol. got 15 phone numbers. then went back home, changed into my comfy work jeans, an old polo shirt i had, and a chicago cubs ballcap, and went back, a few cell camera pics, got pulld over 4 times, ( thinking i stole car.) didnt look the owner/driver part lol ( OBVIOUSLY), and those numbers i got decided meh no thanks.  :technical: :icon_lol: :icon_lol: :icon_lol:

Grabbed a new Robert Graham (have my eyes on one in his newest collection, but the $400 price tag puts me off a bit), a new Hugo Boss and a new McGeorge.  The Graham is pretty typical of his designs and uses a lot of purple, the Boss is creme striped and the McGeorge is dam near flannel the cotton is so thick.......thinking that one will make a great range/carry shirt in the coming 'cold' months.

I think I'm gonna make Paula Deen's CPP recipe pretty soon.  That crazy old bat sure knows her way around a kitchen.

Well, it's official, I've gone off the deep end.  I picked up a 3 button Armani sport coat today.  The tailor is making the proper adjustments and I should have it back Tuesday.  I can already tell that the stories of Armani addictions are true.  It's almost intoxicating when you slip into a perfectly made piece of Italian art.

i don't dare ask the price..... hopefully it's worth it.  :thumb:

I paid about 30% of original retail at off 5th when you combine all the sales going on and a shopper reward coupon I had. It still cost nearly as much as my GS.......

Someday I hope to obtain one personalized taylored suit. just one. I'm told there is nothing nicer than to have your clothing fit 100% perfect for you.  :dunno_white:

Not quite ... rather over rated I should say ...

India has a lot of tailors, so much so that under the age of 15 everyone gets em tailored, its cheaper and you could even get some seriously "different" stuff made, cheaper than buying off the shelf. Like I had a friend who had a shoulder that was lop sided, like his right shoulder was like 2-3 inches further out from his neck ... maybe his neck moved left ... dunno ... but anyway that dude could get stuff tailored just great, but off the shelf ... hell no.

Having said that, if you had a semi average/normal body like me, I have bought better stuff off the rack in the US, than I had made in India.

However my largest complaint of late has been pockets in pants that dont run wide enough, so you put stuff in your pocket it sits on the outside of your leg, and with your body movement it works its way under your leg. That problem will be gone ... otherwise no complaints with getting stuff off the rack. Of course I am comparing pants for 15 bucks vs tailoring crap that costs 100s'

Cool.

Jserio: The cost isn't near what you would think if you're thrifty.  Right now is a good time to buy a suit.  Off 5th is having 40% of suits and an additional 25% off entire purchase.  You can get a basic Navy Armani suit for a little over 500 and a good tailor can get it fitting very nicely for another 100.

My tailor is this little old Italian guy named Julius.  He has a serious eye for his business and he's meticulous.  I walked in there one day to get measured before I bought a sportcoat, without even measuring me, he says "Armani, you're a 48L, Burberry, 46L, Boss, 48R.  Get one of those and I can make it work."  So I go and try on this 48L Armani and it fits almost freaking perfect.  He's just taking in the waist a bit and the sleeves.
