There is many mods for the gs500fs, they just dont respond with huge power increases. however the drivability, idle, startup, and acceleration below 80mph can be greatly improved with most mods assuming there done right.

My F tach was off by about 8%.  It read high.  If yours is the same you still have some room to work with.

I read elsewhere on this forum that if you get an accurate aftermarket tach you shouldnt go above 10000rpm indicated on the new tach because the redline of the bike is 11000 on the high reading stock tach.

You might be right...but I didn't look at it that way.  How I saw it, the real redline is 11,000 and suzuki purposely makes the stock tach read high to keep people away from there.

Either way I never worried about it.  I used to just set my rev limiter to a real 11,000.  Give it hell !!!

Are all speedometers that far off on all model of  bikes,  Min went up toe 117 and was riding along with an 02 FZ1...  He agreed with my speedo.  I've been searching all major sites for aftermarket parts and can't find much other than sprockets and jet kits, air filters.  the only exhaust full systems i could find were jardine and a laser brand that was ridiculously priced, and was promoting a dual tone exhaust.
I have the stage one jet kit, k&n filter and Jardine RT1 complete system.  Was advised by a dealer mechanic to go with bigger jets with the stage one kit.  I appreciate all input.

Most bikes Ive seen are close to 10% high

as far as power mods there are:
intakes 1. K&N stock replacement 2. K&N lunchbox(best)
Exhausts 1.too many slip ons to mention 2. Vance & Hines full 2. Jardine full(best)
Jets depend on what other mods you have
Ignition advancer 1. custom(easy) 2. you can find them through the forum.
Cams exhist but are crazy expensive
Over bore kits are crazy expensive
Head work is crazy expensive

Then there are countless tire, suspension, and cosmetic mods

if nothing broke your good. but i would never go that high due to valve float. at 10500 the valves start to float slightly, at 11500 it VERY audible and very dangerous.
