yeah i thought something is wrong with my judgement but no there is something wrong with my motorcycle.

Apparently it is leaking gas. What can be the reason? How can i fix it? how much will it cost for me to take it to the bike shop?

From where ?

Petcock ? that means new gaskets and tightening the bolts right - do not over tighten it.

If its the crap pockets, usually you'd have to weld it, and shops refuse to do that.
I can weld and POR 15 it for you, PM me, and I will give you more details.

Cool.

Ditto,

Also had a cracked fuel hose. Best way to lose $20 of fuel.

why do shops refuse to weld the "crap pockets"?

i was going to try and have someone local do that for me in the next week or two, then i read that...
if you can't fix it with a hammer, it's an electrical problem.

Cos well .. .gas will light up ... yea, in a world where there is no hot water ... yea you will attempt to weld the tank without getting the gas out 100%.
Or they make more $$$ selling you a "new tank" cos they know in 2-3 years ... they can sell you another tank.
They dont like to do actual work, and they charge you labor for swapping the tank as well.
BTW a leaky crap pocket will be 99.99% effective in draining the tank with no other work involved. Hot water will get the fumes out. Heck a match stick will get the fumes out even better.
