Hey, trying to move up to a sv650 and posted up my GS500 just to see if anyone was interested.
I bumped it up about $500 more than it should be right now, just to see if it can sell.

1) that's about $2000 too high for your gs
2) you're selling @ the wrong time of year

drop the price to 2500-3000 if you really want to sell it, wait till spring to do so, and buy your new sv NOW while prices are lower than spring.

Don't forget he's in Canada (same as me). I too am looking at either a SV650S or a Ninja 650r. Torn between the two right now. 

Also if you can swing it like ohgood said sell in spring buy in the winter!

Yep, I plan on selling my GS when spring rolls around. Partly because it'll be easier to sell, even though I doubt I'll get much for it then either, and partly because I'd like the time to clean it up a little bit over winter. I'm just hoping if I'm patient I'll still be able to get a good deal on something else not too long after that. If not, I'll just put it off until the end of next summer, at which time I would have been able to save some more money to justify bumping my budget up another $1000 to get something cleaner than what I'm considering now.

I don't think its $2000 over.
I'd say around $800.

I have to sell it before buying something new, so I would have two sell it expensive then buy something cheap.
I dont have enough money to buy something without selling the bike.
So this is the only way to do it, unless I skip a summer of riding.
