I am going to attempt to put an sv650 tail on my bike to go along with my sv rear rim.  I have the rear seat, all the plastics, and the entire rear support structure ( cant remember what its called )  I plan to make a custom sized-shaped front seat to get it to look-fit right.  if it dont work out, or looks retarded, then I will scrap the project and give my friend his parts back.

Take pictures!

I had to fix up a seat when I did my tail swap. It was either an R6 or an R1 seat, can't remember, but I had to uncover the front, and cut it up a little so it fit the tank right, but it wasn't too hard.

What year are you using? I got an 07 GS500F and now I'm going to call it a GS500R LOL I just did a tail swap but i didn't have the subframe off the donor bike i had to fab my own. I used an 07 GSXR 600 tail and seats on mine the front seat went on pretty close so i didn't modify it. I desgined my own subframe for it. I like the look of the SV650 tai llight the two paralell vertical tail lights. Post some pics. Make sure you have your welds tig welded they are better and stronger welds. check out mine.

dunno about the 01, but the 03-09 will work well with the GSXR 1000 seats. I just have to get mine together now.

Very nice!  Is that a mockup or are you going to move the gs support bars in or the SV supports out?

A wombat. It's got a big ugly a$$ too.

on a side note, if anyone has any of the metal sleeves that go in the rubber isolators between the upper 2 triples, I need another set.  I am using them to reinforce where the bolts will go through the stock frame.

Those are all TIG welds? they look mig to me. maybe its just the small picture.  :dunno_white:

I don't know which pics you looked at, I fabbed it up with a mig just to get it held in place then I took it to my friends house and let him doing all the tigging and I ground all the mig welds off and replaced them with tig welds after he went over it. I'll be posting more pics in the light this week and you'll be able to see the tig welds better.

jeremy_nash

seat pan is fitting perfect, I tried an sv seat too, it fits perfect, but doesnt look as good as my modified gs seat.  now if I get around to covering it back up, It'll be semi-finished   :thumb:
