So obviously people that post normal useable properly priced bikes like -

(He's I believe an old aquaintance of mine) aren't getting visibility.

There are some good bikes out there, but the common newbie (pun not intended) cannot filter them out.

Dont get me wrong, the only place ive advertised the cb350 is on gstwins/criags, other than that i have not tried to sell. I mostly do the honda cb and hd sporty thing. I can sell the living h#ll out of honda cb parts. In the last couple months at least 25 cb750s have passed through my garage, 3 spotsters, and a bunch of other smaller cbs. I have 7 complete cb750s left and a good inventory of parts. I have not really figured out this pay pall thing yet so most are local sales and word of mouth. Right now anything i have thats not a cb or hd, i have a hard time moving cause the economy and my lack of internet skills. I did have a 71 motoguzzi ambassdor that the only thing left is the frame right now, and that all went real quick. Oh, i did have a rd350 that sold as a complete bike last month in rough shape for $300. The guy that bought that seemed to think he found some kind of lost tressure. I geuss i just thought there was more of a xs following. Im loading it on the trailer next month and taking it to the swap up in minneapolis mn. Right now in iowa at least complete bikes are not going fast cause the cold, but parts are!!

Iowa - sorry I thought you were in texas.

Anyway, parts sell ... and in a way that is a measure of what the recession is ...

tt_four

If someone was looking to build a cafe racer and replace the seat anyway, it probably wouldn't bug them.

I was just saying of all the old CBs I've looked at on craigslist, I'd blow right past any with a seat that looked like that, the paint job doesn't help. You might know it runs well, but anyone selling you a bike will tell you it runs well. Looking nice is at least a sign that it's been taken care of.

I wont be too concerned with that seat tt_four, these bikes are bought by hardcore grease monkeys. See the standard fare is this -

I really have no clue why these clowns weld on hard tails and go and do what everyone else has done.
I like cafe or flat track styles, and I am if I am modding my XS its definetly going one of those ways. Tail off a KLR. swingarm off a DR/RM and a super cool seat made by moi ...
I dont even care about making it look nice. I prefer the weathered look ... like these parts have been here forever ... the whole idea is to make it look like it came from a factory. Not someone's garage.

Really ... I am serious. No one uses that seat or a fender or a tail light or any da bling thing anyway.
