Does anyone know the diameter of the swingarm? As in where the chain adjusters go? I don't recall ever seeing anything on that.... c :icon_confused:

Your question needs reformulating. "Where the chain adjusters go" is not a place with a "Diameter" since it is a rectangular space. What are you actually trying to figure out?  :technical:
1990 GS500EL - with moderately-ugly paintjob.
1982 XJ650LJ -  off the road for slow repairs

I think he means the width of space between swing arm legs at the axle. I.e. left right wheel assembly width including spacers.  If I remember this bike does not have stamped steel axle adjusters- they are internal to the swing arm and do not affect any measurement.

Alternatively he might mean distance from axle centerline forward to front inner edge of swing arm, to find out tallest tire that can be used, but I doubt this.

What I was asking as in taking a tape to the space "in" the swingarm "where" the adjusters go... I ride my bike daily so I really didn't want to take the rear apart and was hoping that someone may have measured the "hollow" space in the swingarm.

I don't have your answer but the confusion is coming from the use of the word "diameter."  This board uses correct terminology, diameter implies you are measuring a circular space.
