I searched and found a post asking this same question and the answer was to check bike bandit and I did and they are different from the earlier ones to the more recent ones.
however they physically appear to be the same.
can anybody verify the resistance on a newer coil to see if it might be the same as the my good one?
5-6 ohms is where mine is, assuming the new one ohms out the same it should work right?

I currently have one running cyclinder and the coil is what is keeping the other one from working, so I need a coil just want to see if the newer ones work as they seem more available.

good news is that I have a working cyclinder   :)

thanks gents

try swapping your coils from one side to the other and see if the problem follows the suspected bad coil.  it may  be the coil wire on it has excessive resistance, not allowing it to spark properly, so check that too.

I did that, so I know it is the coil for sure, even though it ohms the same as the good coil I still get no spark, but what I need to know is if I can use newer coils on my 1991?
That is all I am finding available at this time for a reasonable price.
