Welcome to the forum.

From the way you describe your riding, the GS will be great bike.  I have had my 2007 GS500F (first bike) for a year and a half and about 6,000 miles.  I commute 52 miles almost every day and routine make 250+ mile "day" trips.   The GS is not a rocket but it is a solid and reliable performer.  It rewards patience in the morning.  I warm on the choke until it reached 4500 rpm and then have no trouble.  This has worked in temps down to 25 degrees.

The price seems very good, you can't go wrong.

Keep the shiny side up,

Chuck
