Wow what a day yesterday here in O-town. I was less than a block away when this happened. I-4 was closed for almost 3 hours. I barely got through before they closed off the road. Couldn't imagine sitting there that long on my bike. It was a surreal feeling riding by cops with assault rifles drawn not quite sure what was going on. Then I realized my cell was at home and I had told my best friend I was in that area just before leaving the house.

My fear is things like this are only going to get worse as the economy keeps tanking. I'm just happy he gave up without a fight. We are getting too complacent.

hmm.... It seemed like a pretty rough situation until I got to this point........

"All the victims worked at the firm of Reynolds, Smith and Hills, where Rodriguez was an entry-level engineer for 11 months before he was let go in June 2007, the company said."

I would've understood a bit of frustration and depression if he worked for that company for 25 years and they just tossed him out on the street, but 11 months? give me a break.

Not to mention this part....

' "Because they left me to rot," said Rodriguez, who recently told a bankruptcy judge he was making less than $30,000 a year at a Subway sandwich shop and owed nearly $90,000. '

I make just under $40k a year and have $90,000 due between my mortgage and my school loans, big deal. I think he was at least $15k a year over a shooting rage level of frustration. He's still(was) making $15 an hour making sandwiches for a living, welcome to life as a normal person.

I have friends who live near there, and I have been past that building many times.  Really scary when someone snaps like that and innocent people die.   :cookoo:

Glad you're ok!
On those days when life is a little too much and nothing seems to be going right, I pause for a moment to ponder the wise last words of my grandfather:  "I wonder where the mother bear is?"

I've got to agree with TT on this one.  Something doesn't add up.  This guy was either straight-up certifiable, or had way more problems than the article lets on.

Wow, I need to go to work at subway! I do security and get $9 an hour wtf? He also still lived with mommy! Hope he gets the chair. But I bet he will get off with temporary insanity or some bs. The guy he did kill had a 7 month baby and a fiance what a shame.
