How to order O-rings

I want to replace the 4 o-rings on the GS500F oil cooler.

On the Suzuki Fiche it lists the O-ring as: O RING (D:2.4,ID:11.8 )


Does that mean the diameter of the actual o-ring rubber is 2.4mm and the inside diameter of the o-ring is 11.8mm

Yes. you read those measurements correctly.  You should be able to source them locally at a good fastener shop.

Last time I needed o-rings I got a big package of a couple hundred of them for $7 from home depot. They were nitrile but you can also get normal ones. You could probably find some in one of those packages that would work, and it would still be cheaper than ordering them.

All relevent international standards SAE, DIN ISO etc indentify O rings by the cross section diameter and internal diameter. 11.8 is not listed as prefered size though under BS standards so its not one of ours  , in saying that though it could be to JIS standards like some screwheads on the bike are. To identify the correct size its sometimes easier to measure the locating grooves the ring fits into as they dont distort. Are you sure its not 11mm ID, that would make it a 0106-24 under BS 4518?

Proabably best to get the OEM part, they wont be expensive and you will know you have the correct size/material and wont have to search far for them.

I sell 89-00 ones. 10 shipped for 4 X 2 of the usual ones.
That number set from suzuki is greek and latin to me. But which O ring is it, I may give you a better size, or a sae size.
