Florida non-resident CCW question

Ok all you Florida gun gurus.  I'll be in Florida next month and I'm thinking about getting a Florida non-resident CCW permit.

I see that I can submit an application directly to one of the Division of Licensing's eight Regional Offices located throughout the state.   All I need is A picture ID, a copy of a training document or other certificate that confirms that I am proficient with a firearm and a personal check, cashier's check, or money order in the amount of $117.00

The question is what constitues proof of training?   I'm in the military and qualify annually on firearms.  Would a letter from my command saying I've been trained be enough or do they exepect more?  Training schedule? Training Roster? Course of fire? Scores?

SC has the same requirements.  You should have a qualification chart in your records jacket.  Probably won't take a command letter.  I'd imagine they'll want an SF of some sort.

DD214 bub. That should also waiver the $115 fee or whatever it is. FL makes it easy for us military chaps. I've heard it's basically show up, present DD214, and walk out with permit or something like that. I might be wrong.

STILL you need to be to snuff on current Florida weapon laws. Research castle law, talk with a Florida NRA chapter. They should be able to educate you. Don't want you goin to jail because you shot someone in the back when you should have capped them in the noggin.

Pork just beware that some states will not honor your CCW if it is not issued by your state of residence.
