its actually carb cleaner. i just use it for starter fluid if i have to. and its not technically stock air filter but OEM replacement so kinda yea its stock.

The carb cleaner will degrease the rings and cylinder bore even worse than starting fluid (at least most starting ethers have a lube in them).  If you have a chainsaw or week wacker, try putting a little 2 cycle fuel mix in a spritz bottle and see if that will stard her.  You may need a compression test without and then with a dose of motor oil in the cylinder to see the valves or rings are leaking too badly.  Just check the easy stuff first though.

Compression is fine, maybe ill just use a spray bottle of regular gas. think im gonna be overhauling and rebuilding the engine tanyway his winter so it should be fine after that. just gonna have to use the spray bottle until then i guess. thanks for the idea.

My bike is finicky to cold start if I don't let it prime for several minutes especially after not being run for several days. I get the feeling that gravity feed isn't all that great where intial prime is concerned, on dry carbs. But i could be wrong.

so when you let it prime for a few minuetes it works ok? ill try that.  and for anyone thinking im crazy to go until winter on a spray starting  :cookoo:, I understand, but i live in St. Louis, so winter is likely to happen in the next few days and then go away for a week and come back. and i dont run it everyday. i only run it when im checking stuff.

How old is the gas, and when were the carbs last cleaned?

What happened between the last time it ran fine and now?

gas is fine, tank just cleaned, carbs just cleaned within the month.  Dont know the last time it started up without already being warm. got it used and not working.  Gonna get new plugs so thatll help, cause what i got now are terrible.  I think whats gonna make it good will be a rebuild.
