Can someone tell me why the speedometer is brighter than the tach when riding in the dark? I do not believe I have a bulb out.

Thanks,
Trey

Maybe your left eye is just stronger than your right. :dunno_black:

I'd check for a loose connection or just replace the dim bulb. I believe they start to act goofy before they actually burn out.

Okay, I'd say you're riding too fast. As you approach the speed of light, the panel lights start to fade as you outrun the slower photons. This always affects the tach first due to the Coriolis effect. Here in the southern hemispere, the speedo goes first. :thumb:

Relativity actually states that even as you approach the speed of light, photos from a light source traveling with you would still move away/towards you at the same velocity as normal.

I wouldn't believe everything your relatives say.  :whisper: :cookoo:

*I* don't care what relativity says. Who is to say it is right? It's just a Theory and as valid as any counter theory. Besides, Einstein was a plagiarist anyway.

I have a friend with a PhD in Quantum Optics. And when he can't come back with anything to me during discussions in this area, he does the old fall back... according to the theory of relativity you're wrong.

Well, according to My theory, relativity is wrong. So there.

See according to relativity, the faster I go the heavier I get. So that at light speed I have infinite mass. But with infinite mass I cannot move at that speed.

Well, obviously, no-one has looked at the modern slothy humans. They PROVE that the Slower you move the heavier you get.  :flipoff:

Anyway. I'm just waiting to be beamed back aboard my mother ship after I was accidentally beamed down here when there was a power surge in the flux capacitor created by a hiccup in the dilithium reaction chamber due to a faulty valve shim. So I hang around on Earth until the problem can be fixed and I can make it back to my world.. Terra Sol III

Hope we've cleared it up for you Trey! :woohoo:

I have a new GS500FK with the same problem. She goes for her first 600 mile tune up at the dealer tomorrow. I'll have them check it and report back.
The instrument cluster green  indicators are also not too bright during the day. Hard to see if you left the turn signal on. High beam and oil are bright enough. They'll check those, too.
(Still in the break-in period, so I haven't tried taking her to light speed yet. Though a comedian on a Canadian program said if you're going 100km/hr and fart and you can smell it 2 seconds later, you have a problem.)

Because there are TWO types of Bayonet Bulb Available at the auto parts store-

BOTH will fit -when you or someone else changed the bulb-

168 is not as bright as a 194 - BOTH look exactly the same- Go to ANY auto parts store, buy a pack of EITHER one (they come two bulbs in a pack for a whopping 3 to 5 bucks)

and change them BOTH with the same bulb, same age, should be same brightness? right?

Theres ONE back-light bulb in Each instrument
