Hi guys (and girls), my 2008 gs500 seems to have a cough, like a carby splutter, when I blip the throttle (about 3000 revs), before changing down a gear. The bike shop spent a while on it, they made the fuel mixture richer, but it hasn't helped. Is there any technical people here that could shed some light on this? Many Thanks.......Ken

Ken...

So you're new here. Cool.

Yeah. Welcome and all that.

Now where's the pic of your bike for us to see? C'mon. Don't be shy now. You can share. We like GS500 Porn here. It's a prerequisite, you know?

Ok. So you can hear your carb burp when you blip the throttle when downshifting.

What to do?

Easy Solution... stop blipping the throttle when you down shift. Problem solved. No more burping  :thumb:

Easy Solution # 2... don't come off the throttle at all. As you pull in the clutch the revs will increase and be ready for when you release the clutch in the new gear. Nice  :thumb: :thumb:

Easy Solution # 3... good ear plugs so you won't hear the burp  :woohoo:

You're welcome.

PS... Sorry I could not be of any more help. I know Jack shaZam! about this and went for the easy roll-eyes smirk.
