After seeing this thing on YouTube I went to Aptera.com to check it out.  It's very interesting, but then I read on and see it's only available in California.  They're taking deposits to reserve one but they say nothing about its price.

Does this mean if you have to ask you can't afford it?  Does this mean it will only be a toy of the ultra-rich looking for ways to soothe their guilty consciences?
V&H pipes, K&N drop-in, seat by KnoPlace.com, 17/39 sprockets, matching grips, fenderectomy, short signals, new mirrors - 10 scariest words: "I'm here from the government and I'm here to help!"

To reserve one you need to put down a $500 deposit.

Here's the link to the site:

They're a little goofy and will probably fall into the rich people category, but at least people are thinking along the right lines.  If you just need to move your butt around, you don't need to haul an extra 2 tons of crap. 2 maybe 3 wheels and maybe 500 lbs...
