before anyone starts making cracks at me i still have my gs500f and have no plans on switching to this bike.  i picked it up cheap to either get my wife riding (doubt it) or repair it and turn it around and sell it atleast doubling my money.    i have one problem i cant figure out tho and i bet someone (im guessing buddha) will know exactly what to do.   the fuel petcock has "on, off, resv"  on it.  when its on-everything is cool.  off-everything is cool.  resv-leaks like a b***h from around the actual switch/lever whatever you wanna call it.  and my issue is.....? :dunno_white: :dunno_white:

The Buddha

Buddha ... why buddha ... oh yea I know ... you're a fool for buying a re-ball.
Yea there, that really worked, I feel much better now.
Honestly, I am not experienced with anything but a nighthawk style petcock on a honda, and that is a screw on style, wiht a concentric pick up, outside is reserve, inner line is main, and it usually is never likely to leak very fast ... even if you tossed all the O rings in it, it will at worst put out a slow leak. Oh yea, your carb O rings go, and the thing is a flood ...
Cool.

strange thing about the petcock is there is one hose out.  it screws onto the tank with what looks like a compression fitting.   i looked at bikebandit to see a diagram but looking at that there is no o rings inside of the switch.

and i said buddha bc you seem to be very knowledgeable about everything on this site :star:

Seems a common problem. The honda approach is (apparently, but you could go see what bikebandit says is available, I have not) new petcock. The link suggests a different approach.
