It might sound silly but, I'll toss it out there anyways. I'm trying to get the Carbon Fiber Yoshimura pipe from my GSF500. We put it on there a year ago .. and it's kind of funny considering the pipe is worth as much as the bike.

Now... I'm in process of building a 2003 SV650S race bike. I'd like to save a couple bucks by stealing the Yosh from the GSF. Problem is we are about to sell the GSF and it needs a pipe. Can I take that huge stock thing from the SV650 and weld it on the GSF (with making the right curve and center stand stop). The yosh will fit on anything with the the right weld.

Better to just find a stock GSF can and weld it back on ? I found a full system for 100$ maybe I should just go that route instead of doing any welding.

I wish I never through that stock pipe away!

You've always gotta hold on to the stock parts for just these kind of things. People buying used bikes much prefer stock bikes to custom stuff.

You can put the sv650 pipe on, but you're going to have to rejet the carbs to make up for the lack of air flow. That sv650 can is most likely huge as well, and is going to look even bigger on the GS. I'd either get the stock gs exhaust and rejet, or find another aftermarket exhaust and just trade it so you don't have to mess with the rejet.
