Ever wonder why those guys didn't wave back to you while you were out riding today? Well here's your answers!



Top Ten Reasons Why Harley Riders Don't Wave Back

10. Afraid it will invalidate warranty
9. Leather and studs make it too heavy to raise arm
8. Refuse to wave to anyone whose bike is already paid for
7. Afraid to let go of handlebars because they might vibrate off
6. Rushing wind would blow scabs off the new tattoos
5. Angry because just took out second mortgage to pay luxury tax on new Harley
4. Just discovered the fine print in owner's manual and realized H-D is partially owned by Honda
3. Can't tell if other riders are waving or just reaching to cover their ears like everyone else
2. Remembers the last time a Harley rider waved back, he impaled his hand on spiked helmet
1. They're too tired from spending hours polishing all that chrome to lift their arms.

9.Never road this fast on a two wheel anything before.

7. Freaked out on the extreme right side of the road dogging broken beer bottles and car accident trash.
6. Don't want to lose their grocery's in plastic bags hanging from the bar's.
5. Won't deter from the full attention military riding position.
4. Their mother & grandmother told them it was very, very dangerous.
3. Think it's hoodlum stunt riding.
2. Don't want to chance getting a reckless driving ticket.
1. 25 mph is too damn fast to try something stupid like that.

Hopefully it's not a repost, but knowing the great span of the internet it probably is. Either way it's a good read.

Well at least youre not biased here. , and the moped one. ironic since i built one out of a MTB. and i se people wondering WTF. and for the longest while i wouldnt wave. until i got used to it. and i get WTFH looks when i wave to all riders. there like  :cookoo:

Stereotypes are even funnier when they're true, and yeah I didn't want to take out anything to create a bias, as things like that don't end well.

Guilty, in my defense I am a commuter and my wife was giving me crap and "i dont make any turns in my commute" is apparently not a valid defense.

Yep, you need to change your route if there are not enough turns in it. Sometimes you need to leave an hour before work for a commute that would be 15 minutes on the direct route.

I was riding in a group of very mixed bikes last summer in France, about eight of us including a 650 Burgman scooter, a Goldwing and a couple of arse-up-head-down sports bikes. At one point we waved to a group of French Goldwings. They seemed realy confused about waving back, some did, some not. Our Goldwing rider thought it was hilarious.
Generally in continental Europe everyone waves or kicks the foot after passing, even the French cops on their Beamers which was a bit of a surprise. In Uk sometimes the cruiser guys get a bit "superior" about "the nod" which happens here rather than the wave, riding on the left and all that.
