Hey guys, I'm in Eugene Oregon and looking for a GS500. Used to be pretty active here, had a GS500 for a while and then moved up to a Ducati Monster 750. Sold the GS when I moved from Ohio to Oregon, sold the Ducati out here to raise some cash... Looking for an affordable fun used bike and of course the GS500 comes to mind but I can't find one within hundreds of miles of here. Should have kept the one I had :(

If anyone has something or knows of something in the next few months send me a note. I don't mind paying to ship or driving to get it provided the seller seems legit.

If you're willing to make the trip to San Diego, I will be selling my beloved 1997 GS500 soon.  I don't have full pics yet because I haven't prepped it for sale (still need to replace the cylinder head gasket and cam chain tensioner gasket due to very minor oil leaks).  It has the Suzuki Gel Seat, Suzuki Frame Guards, Kat 750 rear shock, stainless steel braided front brake lines, SV650 box-type mirrors and 89 clip-ons.  I recently (last week) checked valve clearances and they are all in spec (.03-.08mm), replaced the front fork seals and fork oil (11k mi.), installed Seal-Savers on the front forks ( 11k mi. - forks are in great condition, no leaks, pits, or dings), and recharged/checked battery (last week).

She has 16,3xxmi. on the odometer and I have changed the oil every 3-4k mi. using Rotella 15w40 and Purolator oil filter.  I also have an OEM Suzuki rack, generic hard case, battery tender, Clymer manual, and some Barnett clutch springs that I haven't installed yet plus some other odds and ends I might have forgotten.  The tires were both replaced about 3k miles ago and are the stock Bridestones; the front brake pads were also replaced at the same time with EBC pads.

As far as I know, I'm the second owner and have had her for nearly two years.  I bought it from a marine that used it to commute to work, but then parked it in his garage for years on end when one of his buddies got into a serious wreck.  I bought her and rebuilt the carbs and performed a minor tune-up and she's been running like a top ever since.

She has been my daily driver for nearly two years and I don't really want to sell her but family pressure/concern has finally come to the point where I must give in.  If you are at all interested, reply here or send me a pm.  I have a pretty low post count but that's because there is a wealth of info on here and all you have to do is search...I've learned a lot on this forum and have done all my own maintenance thanks to the acquired knowledge of this great community of GS500 riders.

good luck with the search,

-Don
