I lost 2 of the screws that mount the fender to the dampener and it seems none of the local dealers stock them.. any suggestions on there to get them, maybe another brand or non MC source...

front fender to forks right? You should be able to pick up some at your local hardware store or auto store. You might not be able to get allen bolts local (although an ACE might have them).

Just pull one of the ones you do have and take it and compare until you find something that matches.

Should be obvious, but just in in case - only browse the metric section at the hardware store (and if you can afford it consider the metric stainless section, if available.)
List of bolt sizes here - add to it as you hunt them down. The ones you want are listed, I think.

Check post number 5 in this thread for Doug Starwalt's solution to the fender screw problem:

http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=17641.0

I copied his solution not long after he posted it, and I've never regretted it; it just works.

FWIW, I haven't seen any new posts here by starwalt in a very long time, so I don't know if he still reads these forums or not, but I've always wanted to thank him for his resourcefulness. Starwalt, Dgyver, Bob B., Kerry, Scratch, Pablo, John in LA, and the Buddha are all fountains of knowledge about the care and feeding of the GS500, and I can't count the number of times that their advice has helped me solve a problem...

just get rid of the others, and go buy 4 nuts and bolts that fit in the holes. itll cost like what, .18 cents a bolt? OR do what i did and use the 4 nuts and bolts that curentely hold your rear reflecter brackets on.  they were perfect for me.

OK, I just now realized that the OP lost the bolts which attach the fender to the FORK, not the bolts that attach the fender to the fork BRACE, so my previous advice doesn't really apply here. That being said, starwalt found a clever way to keep from losing the fork brace bolts, by making that nut plate, and using silicone sealant to attach it to the underside of the fender.
