Howdy folks

Just thought I'd introduce myself and say hello-
I just bought an '04 GS500F, blue, 6k miles- I'll get pics up, but I'm pretty sure y'all know what a stock F looks like.  :-p
I'd like to comment how well pleased I am with my choice of buying this bike- It's everything I need, and nothing I don't:
11$ per month insurance, somewhere in the ballpark of high 50's MPG, sharp looks, comfort, great stable handling, cruises freeway speeds with ease, enough power to keep me happy but not enough that I'll get in trouble (hopefully).
I'm very happy.

I've run a search on the life expectancy of these things and couldn't find anything easily available (found one thread on it, but it had a link to the desired info that was broken), though I have read several people's vouchers for their reliability. How many miles are you guys running on these things?

Once again, hello, glad to be here,

Thanks!
John

Contemplating the metaphysical with rationality is not far off from beating your head against a wall in efforts to discover what's on the other end- Using empirical science is like trying to figure out what's behind the wall by the sound of the thud.

Welcome to the forum. It's perfectly common to see people with 30-40k miles on theirs, and some have 80-100k, so they'll last if you take care of them. Mine has 17k currently, and I don't really notice any signs of old age yet. Still runs like a champ. :thumb:
