valve cover gasket?? yea i have never taken an engine apart, i do lots of mechanical things and am good with my hands but the furthest i have gone is taking apart the carbs. Also brake roters are a new one for me, which i planned on taking of for my wheel spray but, i read somewhere that they should be balanced? I need to do more research before i take those puppies off.

Valve cover is no more difficult than carbs.  Link if interested.  http://beergarage.com/GSHeadOff.aspx
Fun too.

thanks!!! this i will be doing, but the weather has gone from cold cloudy nasty to warm sunny bright today

got a little work done yesterday, i had the morning off so i went to work, finished cleaning the front sproket area and cover:

Finsished plastic welding

i also prepped and primed all the fairings for paint, they went in yesterday i should get them back in a couple weeks. Finished dismount the front and rear tires, My rear had a tube?? but my front did not ?? i am going to put a tubeless valve stem for the rear and see if it holds air. Since my new pirelli's are tubeless  :icon_mrgreen:

I began stripping the rims, but the spokes seem baked? so i am ditching the painting idea and just getting them powdercoated. Lot less of a hassle and way more durable for 40 buck a rim, which includes sandblast, i am not sure what the going rate for powdercoating is but this seams like a good deal compared to other business in town.

I also stripped and repainted my header, I used VHT Header paint flat black, i didn't take any pictures but it turned out well.

Yes OCD it is powdercoat, i found a local guy that sandblasted and single staged them for 60 bucks, they turned out pretty good. there was a little bead left in one spot when he sprayed them, but other than that they seem fine.

I am working on getting more pics, i get my plastics back on Friday and have Saturday morning to polish and slap them on, Sunday my buddie and i are going to take it out for some pics, weather permitting, he is a professional photographer.should be posting by monday.

not the best shots i haven't got the ones my buddy took, he just hasn't got around to it, these are from my iphone.

anyway so i was out riding today, i have i bit of a hop at speeds around 30 and when decelerating from freeway speed if i loosen my grip the bars shake a bit. I poked around a bit and found these possible problems:
Out of balance wheels,
disc brake rotor,
worn steering head bearings,
worn wheel bearings,
and worn wheel bushings/spacers and axles.

can't be bushings spacers, they are new and tight; can't be wheel bearings they are also new, steering head bearings perhaps?? disk rotor potentially, it did vibrate before I tore it apart. wheels were just balanced when I put on the new tires.

Any suggestions?

Very nice clean looking bike.  Does that scratched suzuki side cover on the engine bother you as everything else looks pristine and then right in the middle of it all their is a scratched cover on the engine.  Bike looks amazing though.

As for the vibration i can't help you with that one.

Yea it does bother me, it is one thing I forgot about during my build. I have some plans for it though.  :thumb:
