So i just piked up a 2001 zx6r front-end with dual 6 piston calipers! Im stoked. It did not come with triples, top or bottom. I am going to put her on over time and hope to have it installed over winter or before.
My question for those that have done a swap, Is the easiest route to get a donor stem and press it into the triple or have one machined and have it pressed in. Im very crafty, but am counting on some professional help on this one.
Also If I get the parts, Does anyone have a reliable machinist to perform this for me? and what would a ballpark estimate be for the procedure.
Found a set of triples for under $50, just making sure they are the right for the forks.
Grumble : Grumble . . . . . . .

O.C.D.

GS stem - $10-20.

Custom stem $300-600.

I had two machinist friedns quote me higher than $400.  Snag a used GS stem and press it in.  Have a spacer made by Bob Broussard (on this site), add some new bearings and call her done.

Get the tripples and GS stem.
