engine difference

Hey ho, is there any difference in a 00 and an 04 engine in power, or in fitting. my bikes an 00 and have had an 89 engine in it already (ive bad luck)  but ive heard 01 they changed, if youve had question a tonne of times i apoligise im new to this,Cheers

the 04 motors were fitted with an oil filter, a different cdi, and a throttle position sensor. the tachometer was also made digital so there are a few differences. but, if you got the entire setup, there shouldnt be a problem because the frames are pretty much the same.
oh yeah, also, any motor after 01 had a 3 jet carb instead of 2.
not 100% sure but from what i've read, those are things i've noticed.
rustbucket on wheels that go vroom vroom and stuff.

not to hijack the thread, since its so related, has anyone put the newer style 3 jet carbs on their older style engine and noticed any perfomance gains?
