Just an FYI on that-- Accidents that aren't reported to the ins. co. and therefore paid by them, or are from OUT OF STATE aren't always necessarily included in the Carfax report.  

Just my 2 cents...

I'd recommend taking it to a mechanic AND a body shop to ck it out!

I was looking at a Golf GTI a couple years ago that I checked out with Carfax. Came back totally clean. I then took it to a mechanic just to be sure and once he got it up on the hoist it was pretty obvious the front end had been pretty seriously smashed at one point....even though the dealer denied it had ever been in an accident.

So Carfax is good and all, but I'd still get anything checked out by a mechanic.
