I am looking at re-shodding the gs for a track day or 2 this summer.  I have a spare set of wheels to throw some good tires on.  What should a guy get?  I have heard good stuff about the bt003's, but how about other options?  What size does one get?  Does a 140/70 fit?  I have heard of people using a 150/60.  I would love to hear any advice/suggestions of those in the know.
Oh, and I can't be bothered with tire warmers, so keep that in consideration.  And also, the tires would generally be for use in dry conditions, but if it is still sprinkling, they aren't going to cancel the event.
In summation; what tires, what size?
Thanks!

BT003RS are the best (only good) trackday tire available for the GS500. Run a 110/70/17 on the front, and a 140/70/17 on the rear. I would advise against running a 150 profile rear tire on the stock rim - the profile will be wrong for the bike.

Tire warmers are not necessary, although you need to be cautious during your first lap in order to warm up the tires and the suspension. I would advise you to install emulators, springs, and oil in the front, and a Katana 600 shock in the rear, if you haven't done so already. On the stock suspension, you may actually be better off with a bias ply tire.

I'll second everything Burning1 just said.  My track bike has BT003RS's on it.
