Gas saver valve caps? Any good?

Has anyone had any experience with these?
I know it's important to regularly check your tire pressure. Being a pain in the ass to do it so often, I'm curious if anyone has had any good luck with using these...

They supposedly tell you when your tire pressure drops below a certain threshold- You can buy them set for different pressures- 32 psi, 36 psi, ect....
I hear they weaken the little spring inside your valve stem and are not good to use....But the company also makes a kind that only tells you the tire pressure when you press down on it.....and it actually tells you the actual pressure, rather than only simply if it's below a certain psi. Anyone had good luck with these?

Contemplating the metaphysical with rationality is not far off from beating your head against a wall in efforts to discover what's on the other end- Using empirical science is like trying to figure out what's behind the wall by the sound of the thud.

I've been eyeballing them forever, cause I'm a lazy b@stard.
I've heard of heavy valve caps tearing the stem on of the wheel, though.  These are plastic, but trading one worry for another.

Half dozen of one, 6 of the other.

I wouldn't use them. The only way for the cap to get that reading is for it to open the valve enough to let air out. I don't trust the caps ability to seal the tire. The cap is there to keep the stem clean, the stem valve is there to seal the tire.

Check your tire pressure once a week, manually. It's a good time to inspect the wheel. chain, and brakes. Getting up close and personal with the bike can avert all kinds of potential disasters.

I wouldn't trust those valve caps either.

However, I have some "gas saver" footpeg rubbers, only $29.95 a pair.
Guaranteed and made in Nigeria.

I've seen them on customer cars and they are very inaccurate.  Also they have metal threads which can corrode and seize to the valve stem.

I've been using them for a few years now, and have been satisfied with them. I've got a different brand than what you're showing. Mine are reasonably accurate, at least they agree with the tire gauges I compared them to. You lose about 1/2 lb of pressure when you put them on, so adjust for that when adding air. I heard of the valve caps failing and deflating tires, but only second hand, so I'm not so sure how old they were. I buy them in pairs, and replace them every couple of years. One of these days I want to switch to these,

but that will have to wait for an increase in disposable income.
