I just saw this online, I'll go look at in person fri or sat http://wave.prohosting.com/edge2/salvagebike8.htm it looks like an easy fix. $2,400 cash salvage title

Manix

Hmm, that doesn't look too bad. I'd say go for it. But try to get the prize down anyway.

damage on both sides of the bike: highsider?

You'll need a new tank, wich is expensive. New turn signals, new Rev-counter, new exhaust (expensive!), new headlamp and new bar end weights.

And even then you're left with a bike that has damage to de sidepanels and damage to the frame, wich doesn't look nice.

there's also a chance that the frame is slightly bent, or the front forks are not completely straight.

I wouldn't go for it.

It does look as though the frame is partially crushed in the 4th picture.  I would email them and ask them to take a better picture of the frame damage.  If a frame is damaged on the car(ie-broken or cracked) the vehicle is considered totalled.  That can lead to structural problems and more pressure on that area therefore making it weak.  I would try to get the price down alot more.

BTW I wish something like this could be done with a GS.  Look at the tailpipe.

Love it.  Now if I just didn't have to sell my GS I would be working on making something like that for it.

I wouldn't trust anybody who described a salvage bike as "Just like new, just laid over a little bit". Look at their main list. Everything is "Just like new", except that they're a little bit trashed.

OK that is another thing I dont get... Exhaust in the tail section... OK OK The 916 looks good... That SS swingarm and the cans in the tail... great. However the exhaust pipe is right about the heaviest part on these bikes... and carrying it so high up in the frame... OK fine you replace it with an aftermarket... now this is a weird triangle shape... You cant buy a can and slap it on there... It has to be that stupid triangle shape and have the right bends in it to fit... and there is still the question of heat... Have these people never sat in traffic... Duh...
BTW I think a good Yosh can on the GS cleaned up and polished looks really nice. So does the V&H with their milled end cap... Honda of late has started doing some really stupid gimmicks... like back in 96-97 they made that Super hawk 996 twin without a frame that goes to the swinagrm pivot... saying that it makes a great race bike... Oh yea wonderful technology... I guess that's why the RC51 has a good heavy duty frame that goes down to the swingarm pivot... Stupid...
Cool.

It looks clean and and it dosn't get scratched in a get off.
Definatly a racer kind of thing. Although, I have already seen several new Honda 600's on the street.
