Well i have recently acquired myself a 1990 Honda CBR 600F Hurricane.  A friend of mine traded for it and he let it sit in my driveway for about 5 months covered.  I traded my TV for it.  11k Miles zip-tied on fairing leaks oil a bit.  Also no mirrors, signals and a hanging off exhaust.  I only grabbed it so i could pass my GS onto my girlfriend eventually and possibly give myself a little more umph.  I dont know if anyone will be interested in seeing the progress seeing as this is a GS forum but regardless of type of bike you guys could give me your opinions anyway since i hold them so high when it comes to cycles.  Anyway i think the place to start would be tearing the motor open and replacing the gaskets and cleaning the carbs.

sounds on point! if all else fails, they might move this build thread to the odds'n'ends forum?

i like the look of those hurricanes, but like the one you have, none i've found have been in good condition at all.

If this freshershest-thread-ever gets spoiled by petty fighting, I'm gonna be so mad.

I like the bike, honestly it feels atleast to me lighter than the GS does.  Ill have some pics up this eve at work currently.  The only thing that worries me is availability of parts.

pandymai

as far as the motor goes, there shouldnt be too much of an issue finding parts. it's a honda motor and im sure there are thousands around. aesthetics will be difficult though. i wonder why so many people just stopped caring about that bike haha. i have yet to find one in good condition.

I saw a few pics of it turned into a streetfighter and it is a mean looking bike without the plastics i can tell you. Its the one on the left.  I will prob go the same route that he did.

Looks like a great project! Find a real headlight and a new tail for it and you'll be in business!

I'll definitely look forward to watching the progress. I don't think anyone will mind that it's a CBR, I'm sure I'll make everyone here stare at my next bike when I get one as well.  :thumb:

The fork seals are rusted to hell so thats one thing im already sure of being replaced.
