Up for sale is my 2004 GS 500F.  The bike has 4500 miles on it and has been a great bike, with no problems at all.  The only reason I'm selling it is that I no longer have any time to ride it, as I now spend my weekends working on my car (my new money pit).
As you can see from the pictures, I spent a good time of money and time moding her and have gotten nothing but compliments.

On to the good stuff, modifications are as follows:

-Custom Detachable Café Racer Style Solo Tail (Tail was made using base from the regular seat so it can be removed with a turn of the seat release latch (like the regular seat) and replaced with the regular seat when you want to ride two up, the original seat is included in the sale)
- 4.5 inch rear wheel swap, wrapped in 160-60 tire
-Modified rear plastic to fill where the grab handle spaces were
-Polished Gimbel Rear Sets (these are rear sets are $400 new!  I also polished them as they came with a machined finish)
-LED rear taillight with integrated turnsignal
-Flush-mount front turn signals
-Polished F1 Exhaust
-K&N Lunchbox Airbox
-Rejetted Carbs
-New Continental Road Attack Tires (front and back, tires have less than 500 miles on them)
-Progressive fork springs
-Side mount license plate hold00er
-Rear stainless steel braided brake lines
-SM2 style bars
-15 tooth front sprocket

Asking $3,200 obo ***REDUCED T0 $2,300** located in Baltimore.  PM me or email me at richardshelm@yahoo.com if you are interested or have any questions.  I also have more pictures available upon request.  I

Thanks for looking.

Any feedback on the bike or price?  I never got the chance to post of pictures once it was done.  What does everyone think of the solo tail?

Stock rear wheel is 3.5 inch.  160 tire needs at least a 4.5 inch wheel.  What did your wheel come off of?

Thatnks for catching the mistake in my post.  I updated it above.

The wheel was off a 88 gsxr 750.

Hello,

I live in Northern VA and am looking for a GS for my wife.  We might be making it up to Baltimore this weekend.  Can you tell me what difference the seat/cowl and rear wheel change made to the ride height?

John,

Sorry it took so long to respond to this questions, I haven't been checking this post (and for some reason, I didn't get an email for an update to the thread).

A short answer, I'm not really sure.  The solo cowl probably had a minimal effect (plus it's made to be exchanged with the stock seat when you want to ride 2 up) probably the same with the rear wheel.  I do have lower links on it that decreased the ride height 2 inchs i think.  I had someone that was 5'6" on it the other day who could easily flat foot it.  I would think it is low enough for your wife.  How tall is she?

Thanks!

I'm interested in the solo cowel if you'll sell that separately. It should fit on a 2009 GS500F.

(If you were in the Seattle area I'd take it as a second bike but it is too far to hip)
