Hi,

I've made up my mind to buy a new GS500F and was wondering if I could get some informed advice from people who actually ride the bike.
I'm upgrading from a GZ250 cruiser, and was wondering if there is much vibration at speeds of around 70MPH. My GZ vibrates like crazy at this speed.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

black and silver twin

The gs will vibrate more than a 4 cylinder but its not bad, it does have a balance shaft. I have no clue what a gz250 is so I dont know if it will be more or less.

I've had mine up to 80 mph. Smooth as  silk!
If someone has vibrations, they may need to balance the cylinders or balance the wheels.
Then, the full fairing may help smooth the ride. I love it!
Mine is stock, 1160 miles on it 2009 GS500F.

Hmmm.... maybe if the tank is low on juice and the revs are high - then - I notice some Slight, very slight, vibration. BUT, for normal riding in normal rev ranges - say, below 8k - no vibrations to write home about. Not that I can detect. And I hit 70mph daily on the way to work and home again. I can't even recall vibrations at 75-80mph.

70mph is around 5.5k rpm in 6th. Smooth as silk at that speed (even 5th at that speed is smooth). And I ride a naked twin - nothing like riding a naked twin  :woohoo:

If you can, take one for a test ride. Get it up to that speed. I was pleasantly surprised at the smooth power going from 37mph to 62mph all in 4th gear, the 1st time I rode one. Nothing jerky. Just smooth as, bro.

Thanks for all the replies, much appreciated.
I'm now 100% convinced that this is the bike for me and it's full steam ahead.
