Just wanted to ask has anyone seen or done a motor swap in a GS? If so what did they put in it? I'm talking about a motor not from another GS something else.

I've seen a number of projects of people putting the GS motor in something else, but never the opposite.  The GS frame is already pretty crowded, I doubt you'd be able to fit anything larger than the current motor, you'd need to choose something smaller than the stock 487, and who would want to put a smaller motor in the GS?

IIRC buddha swapped a gr650 motor into a gs.  other than that, swap your steering neck onto any other bike, and you have a motor swap!
gsxr shock
katana FE
99 katana front rim swap
vapor gauge cluster
14 tooth sprocket
95 on an 89 frame
lunchbox
V&H ssr2 muffler
jetted carbs
150-70-17 pilot road rear
120-70-17 sportmax front
sv650 rear wheel
sv650 tail swap
gsxr pegs

The GR650 engine is the same basic design as the GS500, so it's not really a direct swap.

To be honest, swapping in any other motor is a silly idea. The benefit of the GS is that it's reliable, common, well known, and has been around forever. Once you start doing obscure 1-off stuff, you loose most of those benefits, and you'd be better off buying another bike.
