2001 Carb Needle Question

I rejetted several weeks ago, but just now got around to adding the washers to the needles.

My jets were stock, but I'm wondering if someone had already added a washer to my needles.

Here is a picture of what came out of my carb. I'm adding it as a link instead of an image since it is kinda large:

In the picture you see, from left to right, a washer, a thicker plastic washer, the e-clip, and a very thin washer that goes on top of the e-clip (the small spring sits on this).

My 2001 parts diagram doesn't show anything but the needle, e-clip, and the very thin washer.... so, assuming the plastic washer is stock, it looks like my parts diagram isn't complete.

Anyway, if you've taken apart a stock 2001+ carb, can you tell me if that picture looks stock, or if a washer has been added?

Another thing that makes me think it may have been opened before is that the small spring that goes between the needle and the "needle holder" was missing on the starboard side carb. I've ordered another, but can anyone tell me what symptoms that might have caused? The bike was generally running great, especially since I rejetted, but I was going to add washers to try to help the mid-range out a little more.

Thanks

Casimir

I took my '01 apart yesterday and that's exactly what the needles looked like. I replaced mine with the ones from the Factory Pro kit.

same here.  just opened up my stock '01 carbs over the weekend and that's exactly what the needles looked like when they came out.
It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 muscles to smile, but it doesn't take any to just sit there with a dumb look on your face.
