Brake feel?

So while my back brake seems to have a range of motion during application (e.g. I can modulate it over a range), the front lever seems a lot like an 'all or none feel' to it, making it difficult to make fine adjustments into how much brake I am applying. Now, some of it is perception - I certainly don't lock up the wheel whenever I apply the brake, but I would actually like a little more 'give' in the lever. Is this something due to age of pads? fluid" adjustment? or is it just 'the way it is'?

it can be affected by any combination of what you mentioned.
braided lines, good pads, good rotor and quality fluid can go a long way to improve the feel.

OK, read on another post about lubricating the lever. That seemed to be it. It was very grabby right at the point where it applies significant pressure to the caliper. Some WD40 and life is much better.

WD40 is not really made for lubrication - it'll loosen up jammed parts but it dissipates quickly. Grab some proper lubricant for a more permanent fix.

I believe the manual says that joint should be oiled with engine oil on a routine basis.

How do you get in there to lube the choke cable, throttle cable?
