It only took 3 orders in to Bike Bandit for them to screw up. I don't know of any bike yards around me to get OEM parts so I've been buying pieces here and there from them. Anyway at first the side stand I had ordered wasn't in stock so it was gonna be a few days to source one. Fine, I wasn't in a hurry. It ships after a few days and takes a few more for the post office to deliver the package. I get an envelope and think, "gee, this feels awfully light" sure enough the side stand was missing.

After going through the "live help" and getting a form to claim the post office had lost it I tried to email them directly. Days later I get an email saying...the exact same thing. Now their "form" clearly states that the package was lost, I have no knowledge of it, false claims is a crime etc. I tell them, you guys messed up when packing, the postage is paid for only 6 ounces. The side stand would be at least that much! The envelope arrived completely in tact, no damage or evidence of tampering with. Their response (days later) was to sign the form and send it back.... :cookoo: PayPal for some reason did an insta-dismiss when I took it up to them. Trying to open a claim again says the dispute has already been resolved.

I'm only out $40 something but it still pisses me off that Bike Bandit wouldn't own up and PayPal didn't do squat. The few bucks I saved on the slightly cheaper prices turned into a bigger loss. Since this happened I'm finding out other peoples horror stories with Bike Bandit customer service. I'm gonna try and make friends with some of the local businesses and hopefully they'll take care of me.

I had troubles with them too! I ordered a license plate mount, also not in a hurry to get it, 3 weeks later I say to myself, "something isn't right." I call them up and they also say that the package was lost. They send me a new one, and also charge me for the new one, so they got $40 from me as well. Total bull...

Wow that does suck! I'm very fortunate I have a great dealer around the corner. I pay a little bit more than on-line but the service is top.

I'd rather spend a little more for good customer service because it usually balances out in the end.

Have you tried emailing paypal to see what the problem was? I've had to file 2 diputes and both of them worked out. I'd try to get a hold of them because it just sounds like a mistake on their part.

I have had good luck with Cheapcycleparts.com....unfortunately the nearest dealer is about an hour away and they don't have the best rep but I can't I have bought some stuff from them without issue.

I know you can dispute a charge on a credit card but this was funds from a bank account. I'll see if my bank will help me out on that. I'm going to try contacting PayPal and talk to a person. I'm burning the bridge with Bike Bandit but can't do the same for PayPal since its about the only way to pay on eBay.

You may be able to get your bank to go after them. But, paypal  would be the best and quickest way to dispute this.

IIRC mary he tried paypal dispute already to no avail. once tried in one case, cannot b e doneagain. :( id try the bank though, might cost 20 or whatnot for a stop payment, BUT youd prolly get 20 of that 40 back, , and hte dealer/stealer would have a negative on their books. which would initiate a contact between them and you. which might have more benefits, and mary i agree, having a dealer around the corner, is perfect. ive got one 8 miles from me, i can ride hte motorised bike there, and grab what i need, see it in person. hteyve alsoallowed me to take a part home and try it, sans charge to see if itworked, if itdid, id come back and pay for it. ifnot id bring the part back  and  try somethign else

Bike Bandit Sucks!
Bike Bandit Sucks!!
Bike Bandit Sucks!!!

After placing two orders that they completely botched last year I swore I would never order from them again. This April I (stupidly) thought I would give them one more chance and ordered about 10 items (oil filter, head gasket cover, etc).

Surprise, everything I ordered was in the box. Too bad I didn't order an air filter for a Yamaha or two kinda wing nut looking parts for a Honda...which were also in the box.

Bike Bandit sent your side stand...to somebody...just not you.

That's odd I was only on my third order too when they botched it. Still no luck with PayPal since at the time of payment bike bandit doesn't submit them an invoice, just a bill. That's shady practice number 2.
