I installed a Fram Inline Fuel Filter (Automotive) onto my Craftsman garden tractor and then all of the sudden I have fuel starvation problems with anything less than 1/2 a tank. The tank feeds the carb by gravity, just like a M/C...anywho, if you are suffering any kind of fuel starvation problems and you have a Fram inline filter meant for automotive use...the filter maybe your problem? The best I can figure is that automotive type filters work with a fuel pump and not gravity feed. Once I put the old filter back on the problem went away as fast as it showed up.  :woohoo:

yup! most paper filament filters need a lot more pressure than gravity will allow. like you said, it'll easily cause a fuel starvation problem.

If this freshershest-thread-ever gets spoiled by petty fighting, I'm gonna be so mad.

Car filters are no good for small engines like the GS. I don't have an additional filter besides the tank one, but if'n you do, you'd be better off with something more like this... http://www.bikebandit.com/visu-filter-slimline-compact-body-fuel-filter
