Really...how could anyone be so careless as to put that kind of money in an unzipped pocket?  Then ride a motorcycle no less??   And frankly, what would have been wrong with taking the withdrawal in the form of a teller's check instead of all that cash??  What was this guy thinking??

he will more than likely never see all of it. :( was his own fault for not zipping up the jacket! :nono:  :nono:  :nono:  :nono:  :nono:

I wonder if it really was for his mother..... I certainly wouldnt go riding (or driving for that matter) with $7200.00 in my pocket so I dont think my mom would either. Oh well, I hope he gets some of it back, or better yet, a job! (if he can widthdrawl $7200 cash, afford insurance on a ninja, and not live with his mom, he seems to be doing quite well)
Happyness is like peeing you pants.  Everyone can see it but only you can feel its warmth.

I seen that on the news last week. I mean I feel sorry for the guy, but he sure was an idiot. No one in there right mind carries that amount of cash. Regardless if he was buying "furniture" for his "mom" I still can't fathom why he hasn't heard of an ATM/debit card.

And if he was buying furniture, shouldn't he have been driving a truck of some sort??? Makes u wonder.

Ohhh man that sucks.

However, I remember when I bought my motorcycle I withdrew $2500 cash from my bank.  I had it in my pocket and literally checked my pocket every 2 seconds.  I don't know how he could be that careless.

Y'all know I work for Bank of america right... and looks like I have to say... that was one dumb duuuude... BTW I wont be helping my mom buy furniture if I got laid off... atleast not $7200's worth. Heck I dont have $7200 in furniture in my 2700 sqft house and there is barely standing room in it... let alone a condo... BTW I also dont think I'd carry that big an amount... and why do people say I am glad it was only money slipping off my pocket instead of me slipping off the bike  :? .. Does he slip off the bike often... But you know recently people have insisted I bring cash for deals due to the spate of scams... but never this much $$$...
Cool.

Wow.  Sucks to be him.  One of those guys who did something so stupid it makes you feel sorry for him.  Almost.  Maybe it was just too stupid to feel sorry for.  I kinda feel for him though, I've lost a garage door opener that way. :o

Let's kick this dead horse a little more...

1) Maybe I'm selfish, but I wouldn't be giving my mom every last cent to my name when I'm laid off with an uncertain future.  Maybe give her some now to get settled in and some later when things are stabilized.

2) Who walks around with $7200?  If you're giving to I love YOU, give her a cheque.  If she needs the money asap, have it certified or buy a bank draft, money order, or wire the funds.  Or you can go down to the furniture store and use a debit/credit card (providing you've got the credit).

3) The best thing for this guy to do is sell his bike and give his mom the cash.  It doesn't sound like he's got the common sense required to ride a bike safely and this'll probably save his life... no... don't thank me...

And finally... something smells fishy here.  His story seems to be a bit TOO much of a tear jerker...
I broke it... I bought it...

I have to agree that he wasn't all that bright!  I mean COME ON!  I have only had large amounts of cash in hand a few times...  And I was paranoid about it!!!!  I would not have had it in an outside pocket!  Stapled to me would be more like it!  EEEK!

I agree.  I once had $1,200 dollars in a envelope and was taking it to the back to make a deposite.  Even in the car, I was checking the envelope every 3-5 seconds.  There's no way I was going to lose that money.  How does this guy, with $7,200  just casually stick it in a pocket and go on a ride?!  I hope he gets his money back, but that was pretty stupid.

I pay for all large purchases in cash and don't ever really use my bank account so i don't sweat carrying a lot of cash, as long as you're not a moron nothing happens

Blah blah blah...
