Signal Rotor Notch

How big should the notch be on my signal rotor. Mine lookes like the notch on the opposite end than the bolt(side facing towards the engine) looks to be twice the size of the one in the pictures on the do it urself ingnition advance at gstwin.com. Can anyone clue me in as to how it should look, or if there are variations between the model years. I have a 2000.
