Finally received the complete 96 Head in the mail today!
Took awhile because the bank issued new debit cards and deactivated the old ones and I lost the letter with my new pin # ><

Now to clean everything up and install it into the 89 motor I have.

Which will leave me with a spare running engine to fall back on  :thumb:

Me and bluesmudge and my neighbor Ryan. Good day in the bike cave.

Blue replaced right side cover (it had a stripped round cover screw place thingy where it goes), replaced valve cover gasket. Remove PAIR system. And assorted other little things.

I did a few things to get Suzi ready for working Sunday as the "Official Go-fer" of the West Seattle Garden Tour. I do the job no one wants to do: schlep paperwork and odds & ends from one place to another as needed or rush to a garden if they need help. It is an annual benefit that raises like $30k for West Seattle charities, schools and community projects. I LOVE doing it - ride all day helping for a good cause. If things are going smooth, I still ride from garden to garden just to ride and check up on everything. Its all volunteer. http://www.westseattlegardentour.com/

Oh, and we all had beers and pizza  :woohoo:

Neighbor Ryan is loving his bike. Removed all the fairings. Did some cleaning.

Then sat down in the middle of 4 GS500's and his CBR600 (1995) then set about patching cracks in the plastics with PLASTEX. That stuff WORKS!

Is this like being in heaven or what?

adidasguy: That would be heaven, if I were there!  :icon_rolleyes:

So today I'm driving to work and something on the road (black, rubbery plastic) flies up into my chain and takes my chain off!!!

On the side of the road I manage to pull the covers and put the chain back on properly (the black crap was wrapped around the front sproket), and the engine and trans seem to work fine, but my clutch won't disengage! Anyone got any ideas on what could have happened with my clutch?

I'm bringing it to a local shop tonight to get looked at and make sure there's no other possible problems with what happened to her.

Sad day in bike world...

The push rod broke.  If you can get all the broken pieces out, you can fix it yourself.

For Jdoorn14, here is a link to the side markers I bought:

I also added the Suzuki logo to the new vinyl at the bottom of the fairing

How long is the pushrod supposed to be? I'm at work now, but when I put it back together earlier, the rod was about 5 inches long and didn't seem broken, but I was in a bit of a hurry (being very late to work and all).

Thanks! I think from what I've read is that the smaller rod cracked off, and a small portion is still inside the hole where it's supposed to line up with the larger rod, so it can't actuate the clutch properly.

Anyway, it's going to the shop in a few hours and we'll both look at it to make sure that's it and there's no other damage internally.

Finally got the shredped road worthy this weekend. After a trial ride to work with the GF following me sunday, I got the nerve to bring it in this morning(don't think I've even grinned so big driving to work :icon_lol:);

A bit stubborn to start this AM.. It's a lot easier to push the start button than to kick this beast over 5 or 6 times haha. 2 of the 3 ped projects done, I think next wrenching time I get will go to Gabby the GS project.

Got a chain guard in the mail today.  Excellent product and customer service from Mr. Adidasguy as always:

After I took the picture, I removed the black washers.  Looks better without them.

One of these days I'll make it to Washington to see the 'Cave'.  Washington is one of the 10 states I have not been to in the USA.

I finally had the money to register and insure my bike, i am now 100% legal on the road, road for about 2 hours then bike died for no reason and wouldn't start, so i got a friend to drive over and it jump started and i rode it home (tach stopped working oddly) and double checked all the connections, seems fine now. Tach is now working as well as lights, still gonna need a jump start in the morning to go to work (bike clicks and "almost" starts as of tonight, hopefully the 20 minute ride to work will push it over the edge to starting on its own again! (good speeds, about 45-65 the whole way) tach seems fine again now to, i think it was a loose cable

on a side note farmers insurance wanted $199 a month for insurance! so i went to geico and paid $350 for the whole year  :icon_twisted:

Thanks for the link.

The Suzuki logo down low looks great. Almost looks like factory location. Now maybe one of adidasguy's stainless steel chain guards?

That's about what I'm paying through State Farm per year.

I think I pay like $17 per month with Liberty Mutual.  I was at $11 per month, but got a ticket.

Of course, I am 36 and have a pretty clean record.

Sunday I took my fairings off my K4 and all the pieces left. I used clear epoxy that came in a syringe and fixed my fairings. I fixed all the cracks on the right side and put the bottem section back together on the left! No more vibration noise from the fairings and hell it even looks nice from afar. Next step in a few weeks is to touch up those cracks! :thumb:

Yeah, i'm an 18  year old guy with a clean record, but then again i'm 18... and a guy...
Hopefully some day soon! until then this is much cheaper than my car! (over $100 per month)

The EP carbs I ordered on Thursday came in the mail today. Aaaaand they're K1 carbs. That doesn't help me at all.

I got a new push rod and seal for my clutch, and now she's fixed! Gotta go pick her up shortly and drive back to work! :thumb:

Now I've just gotta wait for my replacement mirror (mirror cracked off when the bike tipped over), I've got eBay mirrors with integrated turn signals coming, since they were cheaper than replacing the stock ones, and now I get nicer indicators! :woohoo:

Here's the mirrors for those curious:

Just ordered a new battery for the GS.  I got the MotoBatt (MB10U) from Impactbattery.com.  Using the discount code "spring2012" at checkout brought the price down to $69.25 shipped!  I was torn between the MotoBatt and the Scorpion, but after reading the review at http://www.boulevardowners.com/cafe/index.cfm?page=topic&topicID=157926 , and the update at http://boulevardowners.com/cafe/index.cfm?page=topic&topicID=176271 , I was sold!
