Enjoyed the first ride to work of the season.  Only been out once other time since last season, and it was 38F.  Temps up to 65F today!  Had to get it in before the snow hits again - expecting at least another 3 inches late tonight, with up to 7 possible!  :technical:

Replaced the back tire myself with a new 130/70 Sport Demon.  Unfortunately noticed the wheel bearings were a little notchy.  I decided to replace them, and after some hard banging with a big screwdriver and some heating of the hub and cooling of the bearing I was able to pound out the old bearings.  New bearings are on order.

I think I'm also going to have to take my wheels and tires to a shop to get remounted because the front has always lost a little air over time, and the new back tire is losing about 2 lbs a day.  It's such a big pain to break the bead on the tires, I'll just pay someone to do it this time.  I think the bead area on the rim just needs cleaned up, and I'll ask for some new valve stems too.  Hopefully that fixes the air leak problems.

goobydoo

Mounted a new Avon Roadrider on the rear wheel, reinstalled/aligned, cleaned and tightened the chain.

Finished the panniers for Suzi. Givi Trekker 33 liter cases.
Five Stars rack. I removed the SW Motech rear rack because the Five Stars is a set of rear and side racks. Still deciding what I want on the rear - a Givi or a soft case for daily use.
The Givi's lock on and pop off real easy (if you have the key for it)
Cases are cool - you can have them open a top flap (see one on right) or full open (left). Each case can be set for either way to open.
There are soft bags that go inside but they are not here yet.
I was happy that the Five Stars racks had all the correct mounting bits for the Givi cases (monokey mounting style)

Measured 21 pins on the chain (during daylight, for a change), looked at the sprockets, looked at the pads... assigned higher replacement priority to said pads ...

(140/80 BT-45V on way.. just realized I need to order those DynaBeads if my intent is to try them)

Blueman

Put on a 15 tooth JT front sprocket...now im paranoid that my alignment is off though. I think I tightened the chain side adjuster more than the right side.  Also ordered 20/62.5/142.5 Mikuni jets for it
2007 Suzuki GS500F-7,500 miles
R6 throttle tube
Flush-mount front turn signals
K&N Lunchbox
Yoshimura Slip on Exhaust
14 tooth Front Sprocket
22.5/65/142.5 mikuni jets
Blue neon
HID Projector
Suzuki 1000 blue footpegs
Hand-painted blue brake calipers

Plasti-dipped my wheels a few days ago. Not perfect, but I'm hoping it'll last long enough and not start peeling.

Bike: 1990 GS500E (Vance & Hines full system, K&N Lunchbox, BM Clubmaster bars, Katana rear shock, 0.90 Sonic Springs), 2000 ZRX1100 (Kerker slip-on)
Location: Virginia

Aarleks

Cleaned my front caliper and put in some new pads. No idea how old the last lot are, but the metal backs were pretty rusty. I'm pretty sure the calipers haven't been cleaned in a long time.
Caliper overhaul is on the list for later in the year as one of the pistons is sticking a bit. Rear calipers and pads next week. Valve clearances next month.

I'm looking to mount a set of Givi E34 hard cases to the GS. Where did you source the rack/mounts for the givi side bags?
Thanks.

Looks good! I'm planning on doing the same to mine once it warms up a little.

Had my first ride of the season on Saturday.  Temp was about 48 and the sun was going down quickly but I got in about a 1/2 hr.     The bike started right up (thank you float charger) and ran great.  Being a new rider I was very concerned about loose debris in the road from all the salt and sand but I avoided known trouble spots and it was a non-issue.

WestAussie

used wd-40 to clean the frame, rims, tank and plastics. wiped her down and admired her for a bit. Then spent 2 hours spraying silicone spray on to rags and detailing her. wait 15 mins and admire her some more. Then wipe down entire bike with clean rags. OH SOOO SPARKLY.  :icon_mrgreen:

Rewired and reinstalled Intergrated tail light. Got some new 92 model k handlebars from the uk today, took them off to get resprayed :thumb: gonna clean the bike this afternoon taking some advice posted by westaussie  ;)

Got free replacement chin bar for my EXO-900 helmet and put it on. Super service from Scorpion.

Boy - I'm really loving the Givi Trekker's on Suzi. Love having one side latched for full open for groceries. Other side I latch just for flip top - perfect for gloves, cat treats and small stuff. I wonder how I ever lived without them.
The panniers are so wonderful I'm not going to put a rear tail bag back on.

Matt (member  sea206) changed the stator cover gasket on Frank and seems the oil leak is gone.
