I did a bad thing. I went out yesterday and bought a brand new SV650s. The good news is that I still have the GS, so it's all good!
I plan to remove the lower fairing to give it the naked look that I love.

I like that bike a LOT more with the fairings on, but then again I don't much like naked bikes.

To each his own.

Is that the version with ABS?

Here's what I have been doing the last couple of days...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gGVz-AIHyFo

I would have gone for a ride today, but it snowed...then snowed some more...it has finally stopped at around 4" (10cm)...wet crap, so it should be gone in a couple of days if we get some nice weather above the freezing mark...

Later.

I love the SV650S! I actually bought my GS about a month ago and now I'm ready to upgrade to a faster bike, and was looking at an SV but I still love my GS!

I did exactly the same thing. Bought my GS about a month ago. I've put nearly 800 miles on it in that time and I was nearly ready to upgrade. I went into the dealership just to try on a few and look around. Long story short, they made me an offer I couldn't refuse, so I came home with a new friend for my little GS. I really love the GS for various reasons, not the least of which is the sheer comfort when I ride it. The SV is slightly less comfortable due to the more agressive riding position, however, there is definitely a large increase in power, specifically the low end torque. This bike could spell trouble for someone lacking in self control. :woohoo: Luckily for me, I have just enough of that to keep me out of trouble.  :thumb:

Here they are, tucked away for the week while I'm away for work:

Are you interested in selling the lower fairing?

I am interested in selling it, but I really don't know what it's worth. Where do you live? (I'm in southern Indiana near Louisville, KY)

Is that a Ghia I see?!

I ordered a 14t front sprocket for my GS yesterday... as much as I dont want to wish my college years away, I really CANNOT wait for the summer. My buddy just bought a BMW f800r (he's made of money... heh), and another buddy has an SV650. We have a few trips planned out  :thumb:

yup, did that recently as well.  Been giving it a daily shower in the rain when it's parked at work, due to the rain. :icon_mrgreen:

Yesterday, I finished the DIY ignition advancer. Started MC up, it seemed to have crisper response to throttle inputs. It didn't take long to do with a Dremel; couldn't see anyone doing it w/o a dremel like tool.

SV650 throttle.  Feels like it was made for this bike, instead of the one that comes with it. Also installed a double bubble screen and SM2 bars over the winter! Next stop...new rubber!

Pulled the two inch long piece of what appeared to be fencing wire from my back tire and plugged yet another puncher. That back is copping a beating with punchers, soon it will be more plugs then tyre.

Its all been really random stuff, a small sliver of glass (like headlight), a very rusty screw, this, so I'm thinking its not someone I pissed off as there is so far to much variety. Besides the bike is either on a RAAF base or behind a fence with a protective dog sleeping with it. I park next to the hot water heater and the dog sleeps with the hot water heater.
