Stevo - any Saturday or Sunday. Just PM me and we can do a ride or just sniff corks. :woohoo:
I really enjoyed easy, slow riding on unknown roads full of hairpins with slippery moss and wet leaves. I can't recall when I've really enjoyed just easy riding so much. (No knee dragging, no pushing to the limits - just nice, easy, enjoyable riding!) If you want to enjoy the scenery, you can't ride to the limits. You've got to take your time to smell the roses (and that llama ranch   or was it elpackas or something else?)

Heck, for $7.20 and I'm a few minutes from the ferry terminal, now I know what to do on a weekend when I want to go ride.
I'm a speed limit +5 guy...I ride to smell the cow manure...nothing makes me more happy than to be tooling around the back roads of Washington State smelling cow manure (fer realz)  :icon_razz:
This year sucked for riding, it's not really over yet and I do have an electric vest and pants liner. Your what... 20 minutes from here? Note to self, add adidasguy to contact list  :icon_idea:
I Ride: at a speed that allows me to ride again tomorrow AN400K7, 2016 TW200, Boulevard M50, 2018 Indian Scout, 2018 Indian Chieftain Classic

If I knew the road, then 5+ is OK. First time on an unknown twistie road along the waterfront - I'm a little cautious.

PS: 5+ on a Gs500 speedo is speed limit  :cookoo:

In case any one likes pointless trivia, here is what my nearly $800 got me for a 3 year old bike in the NT

A little sticker about the size of my thumb.
I like a non-sequitur as much as the next Giraffe.

$800? Did you buy a new bike? Curious of what costs that much.
and they had the nerve to punch a hole in that sticker  :bs:
I would have asked for a new one with no holes in it for $800

Flux Maven

I just put in a new set of plugs! The old ones were kind of white looking so I think I am running a little lean.

I installed a stock muffler.
I was running straight pipes and needed some back pressure. I liked the roar of the bike but my neighbors sure didn't.  Anywho... I was in a bike junkyard looking around for a headlight maybe. And saw a 05 gs500e exhaust in good condition just hanging on a rack and couldnt pass it up for $100 versus a jardine full exhaust For $350ish or yoshi for about the same then having to pay someone to weld a mid pipe and install it for me.
My bike runs so much better at the lower rpms now!

Put a new chain and sprockets on, must say the vibration level has dropped right off.
Some say that he submitted a $20000 expense claim for some gravel

And that if he'd write a letter of condolance he would at least spell your name right.

Did you stick with stock sizes?

Put a plug in my tyre. I'm happy it lasted 7000 without the need for a plug as opposed to the last tyre which was every 1000

changed handlebars (chrome)  http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/1/4/68/15396/ITEM/Bikemaster-Drag-Bar-Handlebar.aspx?WT.ac=SLIsearch

and new bar end mirrors as I broke one dropping the bike slightly on the wet grass in my back yard.

(now to shower and take it for a ride)

Pretty sweet arent they? What stiffness, oil weight and level did you go with?

Stiffness is .95 with 15wt/115mm.  I weigh about 220lbs so I needed the .95's.  Bike feels so much better.  No more bottoming out, and much less nose diving during braking.

I think my tyres are slightly lower profile than stock, and when I go through those LED radar displays my speedo seems dead on with the radar.  From memory the stock battleax front tyre is a 110/80 and the sport demon I replaced it with are 110/70.

Finally back on the forum after a busy couple of months  :icon_mrgreen:

Hello,
I purchased my absolutely rust free (Arizona bike) 2000 GS500E with 4,800 miles on it approximately 3 weeks ago. Since then I have read this site from top to bottom and:
-Given it a thorough cleaning.
-Changed the oil and filter.
-Lubed the chain.
-Put on a V&H full exhaust system.
-Put on a K&N lunchbox air filter.
-Rejetted: Stock pilot (37.5 I believe), 2 washers under the needle, and a 147.5 main.
-Put on thick fork brace.
-Installed Sonic Straight Rate Fork Springs (.9 with 1/2" preload).
-Given it a fenderectomy and removed the front/rear reflectors.
-Installed a Clear Alternatives smoke taillight with integrated turn signals.
-Installed smoke flush mount front turn signals on the quarter fairing.
-Won a 2004 Suzuki Katana 600 rear shock on eBay...awaiting delivery.
-Put on a Firstgear Silverstone Tail Trunk.
-Put on a Motocentric 14 Magnetic Tank Bag...got it today!
-Installed a power recepticle to charge my iPhone.
-Got a Sena Bluetooth Helmet device and a new Shoei X-12 Glory 2 helmet...it rocks.
-Put 300 miles on it.  :)
Yet to do:
-Get personalized license plate...'GS500' is still available as a motorcycle plate from AZ Dept of Transportation!
-Racetech Gold Fork Emulators.
-Bridgestone BT-003 tires (front & rear).
-Superbike handlebars.
-Stainless steel brake lines (front & rear).
-Pingel petcock assembly.
Still contemplating:
-Corbin saddle.
-GSXR front end complete...anyone got one for sale at a reasonable price?
-Katana 600 4.5 x 17 rear wheel.
So much fun to tinker with!  :icon_mrgreen:
Very respectfully, Tim
P.S. I would post a picture, but I haven't cracked that code yet...
