I took mine out for a run to meet up with some friends for dinner, then took a more scenic route home.

i "installed" my new Cortech Sport Tail Bag.  i gotta say it looks great, and seems to hold a ton of stuff!  AND, i got it on just in time for it to start snowing here!  not sticking, so at least tomorrow ill get to see how this bag works in the rain.

sorry, shitty pic!

Hey Mikey, I've got the same tailbag.  I use mine to carry my laptop & books to & from classes, but we don't get much of that wet stuff you're talking about.  Let me know how well the rain cover works.

Finally got around to putting the Lunchbox on and re-jetted! She sounds so different without the airbox on there!

I took one photo of the old and new jets side by side with my phone. I'll definitely get some once I actually get her out of winter storage.

Removed the fairings.
Remodelled the fairings to add strenght and fix random damages from prev. owner.
Changed oil
Changed oil filter.
Checked air filter
Replaced Tacho-cable
Soldered new wires to the front turnsignals
Repainted metal-bits around the instruments.
A bit a cleaning.

To come: Add filler to the repairs I'm during on the fairing, get it painted. Refitt the fairings, and take "her" for a testdrive :)

Noticed the chain guard had some wear on the wheel side.  On closer inspection, it looked like the mounting bracket was bent, so I bent it back to be centered over the chain.

Also noticed the cable guide for the choke wasn't doing it's job, so I adjusted that to actually guide the cable past the speed-o.

Might take her out for a run in a little bit, but I've got some sinus gunk going on, so I might have to take the cage to dinner instead.

Installed my Lunch Box (Thanks Big Rich!).  Wow do I need to tuck away some wires.  Got a new project for tomorrow.  :thumb:

Haven't a chance to take it out yet, maybe tomorrow once this flooding is over.

Another Bike?  In what? 2 years?  You need serious help!  First step to recovery:  Put Thumper in a crate and ship to me in South Georgia where it won't get rained on.

It's a bad weekend to mention no rain in South GA.  Lol.   :icon_eek:

Thanks for all the complements! He's at Aurora Suzuki for a complete check-up. People walked by it and thought he came off the showroom floor. When told he was a 1973 (with collector license plate) they couldn't believe it. Thumper should be coming home next weekend.

Yes, hell froze over because I have a non-GS500.

NO, don't need therapy  :cookoo: until I have one bike for each day of the week. (And its 4 bikes since May 2010, then there's all the parts. Sorry - I guess I DO need help  :icon_confused:)

Interesting - there was a guy with a 2002 GS500 looking for upgrades at the dealer today. What happens? The guys at the parts counter call me over so I can help him out. Hopefully he'll sign onto gstwins. Nice having a dealer that cares more about the customer than making a sale!

NEXT: Got to clean up the Bike Cave for Thumper. That means lots of GS parts: 2 sets of fairings, wheels, tail lights, carbs, bars, etc. all got to start selling to make more room,.

Twisted

Is it a stinky (2stroke)? I have a friend who is currently restoring a Bultaco, they look very similar
