Thanks. I also painted four more colors on test pieces today also. Still trying to decide on a color for the bike.

I painted Emerald Green metallic, Candy Red metallic, Deep Orange Metallic and a Holographic Gold.

I will post pics tomorrow once I have some good clear coats on them. It the sun they all look AMAZING!
Ooooooooh Aaaaahhhh Deep Orange Metallic, my favorite
I am not interested in anything you have to say
Don't bother talking to me, I will not answer you

Removed and primered the front fender, going to give it some paint tonight so I can ride on Thurs. Going to have to change my avatar as she won't be the purple and yellow Lakers bike anymore!  :woohoo:

Installed a Musarri Header!!

Looks awesome!  FYI on terminology for your own benefit...that is a slip-on.  The header is the part of the exhaust that comes out of the cylinder head.

Some say that he submitted a $20000 expense claim for some gravel

And that if he'd write a letter of condolance he would at least spell your name right.

Put the 'new' seat on (secondhand from PistonBrokenCyles > glenm here on the forum).
Big difference to the original: first owner cut out a lot of the padding to sit a bit lower...
Nice'n firm.  Looks a lot better too.

I normally keep it in the garage out back, where it's literally freezing so I rolled the bike into the 'big' garage, connected to the house: nice and warm.  Putting on my rim stripes tonight, and that'll probably work better on warm rims.
Few other advantages too: better light, so I can see what I'm doing.  And the fact that my fingers won't be frozen solid will probably help the end result too  :icon_mrgreen:

Hot tip for rim stripes .... When you cleaned the rims.... Clean them again... And again!! ... Nice white towelling with some white spirits to get any traces of greasy stuff off... And really don't press them down more till you happy for exactly right... They can be lifted away again carefully if not squeeged down tight.... Usuallly

Thanks for the info, Janx  ;)

I've done some decal work on the Vespa's before.   Clean, clean and clean some more, I know...
I usually apply them to a slightly moist surface (spray it with a soapy solution), so I can shift them around until I'm 100% pleased with how they look.

jacob92icu came to the Bike Cave today. He though the bike had lowering links. now we find links and shock are all stock AND we even replaced them. Bike is low. Still no idea why. Maybe something with the 89 frame? Someome altered the frame or swing arm?

Anyway, we replaced gauges with the set from BigRich and installed LEDs for all the indicators. Quite an improvement from gauges literally held together with bailing wire and duct tape.

He got a stainless chain guard. New plastics to paint that had all the tabs. Headlight to replace the scooter headlight. Replaced a few missing bolts & rubber grommets. Looked at some farkled up wiring.

I stared the day by unpacking parts and sorting them. Surprised to find a tail center in a bag-o-bolts and headlight mounts! jake got the tail center - he needed one.

Installed the K&N lunchbox and rejetted! Also fixed my mirrors (loose ball joint and no set screw- red loctite did the trick).

Took off the front fairing and opened a can of elbow grease...
Shiny headers and engine block  :icon_mrgreen:

Took her for a short spin. Life is good.

Looked at it in the garage while a winter storm advisory was issued for the tri-state.
