today morning my vs800 intruder cranked up alright ,and then I parked the bike for few min and after that the bike wouldn't fire up.
when I hit the start button total all the electrical's switch off(indicators, light's everything)..like its tripping

I checked for blown fuses but all of them were ok and now there is no electrical power itself even before I hit the start button.

Where should I start looking for fault...have to push bike home though first

check the connections again, and check the fuses again. if there's NO power, there's no current running through the bike, meaning the power's cut off somewhere. it has to be a fuse, relay, dislocated wire, or bad connection to the battery.
rustbucket on wheels that go vroom vroom and stuff.

If this freshershest-thread-ever gets spoiled by petty fighting, I'm gonna be so mad.

Could be a bad connection to the battery, or something broken inside the battery. Mine did that, it would turn the lights on and die when I hit the button, even though the battery displayed a full charge.

I suggest:
- Pull the battery and stick it on a battery tender until fully charged.
- Clean off the battery terminals and battery cables.
- Reconnect the battery and make sure the connections are solid.

It's most likely a bad battery if:
- The bike starts only after being on the battery tender or after a long ride, but won't start after a short ride (or a few short rides).
- If the bike starts easily when cold, but won't when hot.

I checked all the fuses, battery terminals again and there is power till fuse box 12.5v moved around the fuses but no difference
the battery is new and is charged half ...
the parking lights work fine but when I hit the start button with kill switch in on position...I can hear a click and the whole electrical system shuts down
the click sound seems to come from the ignition relay/ignitor below the seat.

I went through the manual it says the bike is equipped with a circuit breaker and it pop out when mains exceed amperage ....and pops back when it cools down after 10 min..that's the reason I think the power comes back in few min.

will test relay in morning ..yesterday I changged the seat may be I unppluged something .......could anything else cause this tripping

So, once the system shuts down, it doesn't come back on when you turn the bike off and on again?  You have to wait 10 minutes for it to work again?  Crazy.  Maybe there's a short somewhere in the ignition system.

I'm lost...   :dunno_black:

less than 10 mins power comes back ..checked for the circuitbreaker but could not find one

very similar to the posted problem here http://www.justanswer.com/questions/1be8m-complete-electrical-failure-2001-suzuki-intruder-vs800-i
not able to find the fuse ..will look in morning for the fuse.

could anyone make out the possible component wires to check from this circuit diagram   http://img204.imageshack.us/i/dscn4022v.jpg/
as far as I can understand from the diagram the componets to check are the battery terminals and ingnition switch

swapped the battery with my GS500 and bike fired up right away.
does the bike have a cut off  if voltage drops or is there something wrong with the battery
its a sealed battery ...reads 12.5 v ..will charge up today  and check if low charge thats causing the problem

the battery has a dead cell or something, charged whole day and voltage didn't go past 10v.It was AGM ,sealed battery only couple of months old ,so I checked the charging voltage ,it was 12.8 to 13.5 at idling rpm.

Is this normal cause the volt was varying 12.8v to 13.5v and sometimes stayed constant at 13v.

What type of battery is best ,cause I read on one of the battery website that AGM batteries life is reduced drastically when capacity drops below 50%.
