Has anyone tried this? I have a dent in my fuel tank and my boss at work recommended this; I haven't tried it myself yet. Anyways... If you have a dent in your fuel tank; remove the tank from the bike, drain fuel and secure a cargo strap around it (just taught) then seal all the pipes and filler cap but one. Attach an air line to this and apply about 3psi to the tank and this will pop the dents out. The reason for the cargo strap is to prevent the tank from butterflying outwards.

3 psi will not do squat.
30 psi may work ...

There is a club called the 4 psi club. Your boss wouldn't happen to be a member of that you dont think ? Its some old viragotech forum guys who calculated their bike's with a full talk of fuel will make 4 psi of pressure ...

3 psi - is less than the force exerted by the weight of fuel on a full tank ... GS tank probably puts 6-8 psi on that bottom section of the tank ... and it wont undent squat.

Cool.
