Why are you trying to remove the triple clamp to replace the mirrors?  Shouldn't you only need to remove the handlebars?  Hell, you probably don't even need to remove the handlebars, you could just slide the controls off and change out the mirror mounts.

+1

The mirrors on e models mount into the brake and clutch.  The brake master cylinder has 2 bolts so there is no need to remove anything.  The clutch carrier only has one bolt so you have to remove the turn signal switch, choke and grip to slide it off if I remember correctly.

Or are you asking how to remove the handler bar mounts on the triple clamp top cover?  Those should just be 4 allen head bolts.  They may have plastic trim covers on them that will need to be popped out with a small screwdriver.

My bad, when I said "mirrors" I meant to say headlight brackets...

you dont need to remove the triples just loosen tho top and bottom pinch clamp bolts on both fork legs. loosen the hardware for headlight mounts (E model) and slide the fork leg out. can do both at once with the wheel on. might need to have her on a jack.

That would be your #1 problem right there  :technical:

I have seen hell. It's a place where no-one says what they mean, or means what they say.  :thumb:

Almost done with it...thank God. Ok, I'm starting to slightly love my bike again, now that it's 95% done. Here's a picture of what I did today: installed TAG handlebars, headlight brackets from Fly-N-Cycle, and the dual Dominator headlight...the light is at the end of the tunnel!
