Found a complete 07 GSXR 750 FE (except the wheel) for just over $110 in great condition. I was wondering if anyone ever did a good write up on how to do the swap. Its a really good price for the front end as far as i know. Would still need the wheel, rotors and calipers though.

buy it
worst case, sell it for more.

if you have the whole front end it is just a matter of modifying either steering stem and dealing with small issues like the steering stop and headlight/gauge mounting
good luck

I looked at pantablos. Not very descriptive and pics are needed.

If any thinks i could sell i for more maybe ill pick it up even if i might not go through with it. Would be sick though, i wish i had a shop...

Is this going on a GS500E or a GS500F? The F swap is going to be easier, because you won't have to worry about mounting up the headlight or instrument cluster.

With a front end swap, you really have two choices... Machine a replacement steering stem that can mount the GSXR tripples to the GS stem, or machine a replacement set of tripple clamps that can fit the GSXR forks to the GS500 stem. The former option is the least expensive.

If you are extremely lucky, the GSXR stem will fit in the GS500 frame with just a pair of bearings, but the odds of that being the case for this swap are pretty damn low.

Afterwords, you'll need to work out the controls. You can probably install the GS500 grips, throttle, clutch, and control clusters on the GSXR clip-ons no problem. Use the GSXR brake lever. The brake signal wires are probably a straight swap, but if not it should be pretty trivial to splice in the correct connectors.

Thanks. I know people with the machining skills to make just about anything, but nothing local unfortunately. Up here in NY winter is about 5 months long, so time is on my side for a winter project.

cboling just had his gsxr front end done before he parted his bike. message him for tips.

but yeah, basically, you need to get the stem from the GS pressed into the triple of the gsxr (or something along those lines).

if you want, you can also as bobbroussard as he's done the swap for multiple people. you send him the parts you have and he'll send them back ready to bolt on. there are a few people that have done it. wait for them to hop in or go lookin for them
rustbucket on wheels that go vroom vroom and stuff.

If this freshershest-thread-ever gets spoiled by petty fighting, I'm gonna be so mad.
